Chief Tui (Moana) versus Maurice (Belle) (Maurice 3-1)

I’ve spent the last few weeks figuring out how to get 185 people that work in an office equipped to work from home. At the moment I sympathize with Tui because I really want to find a nice island to hunker down on right now, but my vote is going with Maurice because he was a plucky little inventor, and right now pluck wins the day.

In light of current events, my “dad” votes are shifting to “who would best survive a global pandemic?” In this matchup Tui wins at Social Distancing but as we’ve seen that simply isn’t enough. We need industry to come through in producing more and new equipment. For that reason, I give the win to Maurice and his creative inventions.

My pick is Tui. In this day of uncertainty we need dads to be strong protectors who love and care for their kids. Tui is that kind of dad. A strong warrior, protector and loving. He probably also knows how to work the spit and can roast a wild pig. And he is pre-Fergus in the Dad-bod category.

Considering Chief Tui lives on an island, it could be good or bad in a pandemic. Since inventor Maurice seems to spend a lot of time by himself, I think he would probably survive and advance.
King Frederic (Rapunzel) versus (King Fergus (Merida) (Fergus 3-1)

I voted for Frederic last round to appease the four-year-old Fashionista, but this round I’m breaking with the wishes of one of my little princesses. Fergus was a good-natured guy who loved his daughter and raised a strong young woman (sometimes in spite of himself, but let’s not focus on that). If I had to pick one of these two to sit down and talk fatherhood with it would be Fergus, so that’s my vote.

Again, in light of current events, my “dad” votes are shifting to “who would best survive a global pandemic?” Sending a bunch of lanterns up to the sky, while a moving tribute, doesn’t help one’s family survive a global pandemic. Killing a bear? That’s the kind of skills needed to survive. King Fergus with the win in a global pandemic.

My other pic is Fergus, who is full Dad-bod. But like Tui, is the strong warrior-protector. He is also loving and playful. He’s been known to hold a grudge but if a bear ate your leg, you might too. But he also loves his daughter like crazy and believes no man is good enough for her, which coincides with how I see the world too. Plus we have the same bear-cape.

King Fergus seems like he has grooming issues and apparently King Frederic let his daughter be sheltered in place, so I think Fred is clear winner here.
